Education Courses
Elementary Education majors are required to take courses to prepare them to teach elementary mathematics. The following courses are meant to meet these requirements. Both courses are offered on both the Poplarville and Forrest County campuses.
Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi will accept both of these courses. The University of Southern Mississippi will accept MAT 1733 as a mathematics elective. Students planning to transfer to USM are still encouraged to take MAT 1733 as preparation for the PRAXIS I at the end of their sophomore year. These two courses share a textbook in an effort to aid students financially.
